Your Guide to Isle Royale
Are you planning a trip to the island this summer? If so, this is your guide to exploring it. Written and researched by Jim DuFresne, this is the 5th and, in our opinion, the best edition yet. Route listings include terrain, distance, amenities and more. You’ll also learn about campgrounds, wildlife, fishing and history in this comprehensive guidebook. Whether you choose to paddle or hike, Isle Royale National Park is the backpacker’s bible with everything you need to know for an island adventure. The book is now in stock so stop by and pick yours up today.
For those of you that have already committed to going, our Houghton store is located minutes from the Park Service headquarters and boat dock for the Ranger III. So, if you need any last-minute camping supplies, fuel, food, bug nets or paddling supplies we'll have them! We also have a staff of employees that have spent quite a bit of time playing around on the island and are more than happy to share their knowledge....heck you might even be able to get them to tell you their favorite fishin' spots! Exploring more of the Upper Peninsula? We have guidebooks and trail maps for Porcupine Mountains State Park and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore too!
