Gear Review: XtraTuf Legacy Boot

What season comes between winter and summer in the Upper Peninsula? Mud season. All of the rain and melting snow turn the ground into mud of various thicknesses and colors. It's a hard season for your feet and that's why every Yooper knows the value of a good pair of rubber boots. After years of searching we think we've finally found the perfect pair: the XtraTuf Legacy Boot.

Born on the commercial fishing docks of Alaska, this boot uses triple dipped vinyl neoprene to create a lighter, more flexible, and most importantly, completely waterproof rubber boot. The slip resistant soul is great on everything from boat decks to wet sidewalks and the cushy open cell foam footbed makes long walks a comfortable afair.

Available in men's, women's and kid's models, as well as several heights and styles, these have become the go to for our staff and their families during the mud season. Our favorites are the tall models (15" for men and women and 8" for kids) since the top can easiy be rolled down. Dog walks, post winter yardwork and spring exporations on a Lake Superior beach have never been more comfortable.
